The Tiger
The tiger represents power, strength, and courage. Tiger Qi Gong exercises help cultivate these qualities. Tiger exercises strengthen the muscles and tendons.
The Tiger: (a great exercise for longevity)
Reach arms overhead, tiger claws at the ready. Feet shoulder distance apart.
Squat down comfortably and exhale out the mouth with the tiger breath. Send any energy no longer of use to the earth. The full range of motion is to get the hips as close to the heels as possible.
Come up, inhale through the nose gathering strength and energy.
Repeat the above three times.
For a good release of frustration, cross the arms at the wrists, then open wide with a tiger growl! Tell yourself, “I've got this!
The thing that gave me inspiration for this post on the Tiger is back in January, I saw that Trish Lewsader, my forever friend, painted the most beautiful Tiger! I really like Tiger Qi Gong, so here we are. I want to thank Trish for providing a print I could use for this post and so I could get it framed and hang in my Qi Gong studio.
