Five Element Fingers

 
 

This moving meditative practice in this video is called Five Element Fingers. Bring your hands together at heart center, then separate them into a qi ball. Now touch your thumbs together, then first fingers, middle fingers, ring fingers, and pinkies. In Meridian Theory, the thumbs are connected to the lungs, first fingers are connected to the large intestine (lungs and large intestine are paired organs), the middle fingers are connected to the pericardium, ring fingers are associated with the Triple Warmer for overall balance, and pinkies are connected to the heart and small intestine, (again paired organs.)

  • Inhale and bring your thumbs and middle fingers together as you float your hands out to the side. Whenever you bring fingers to thumbs together, it’s like containing energy.

  • Exhale, open hands, and release. This will be a special move for your heart center and pericardium.

  • Inhale, bring the hands to the front, touching thumbs and middle fingers as you draw the hands to the qi belt at your waist.

  • Exhale and swing your arms up and around to shoulder level with hands open. Release anything that's no longer serving you to the earth.
