Balance
Qi Gong for better balance is about staying grounded; about being connected to the earth and mirroring the movements of nature. Balance is about being connected, centered, relaxed, and enjoying life. Balance is so important, and here’s an exercise that helps you work toward that stability.
Standing Quadriceps Stretch
Shift your weight to the left leg. Imagine energetic roots extending down through that leg to the earth. Get your grounding. When you’re ready, take the right foot in the right hand. Lift your left arm skyward. (If you need to use something like a chair a wall for support, that’s a good way to start out.) If you lose your balance, put your foot down and begin again. Now, without putting your foot down on the ground, slowly release it. Lift and hug the knee to your chest. Stand tall for several seconds. Then place the foot down.
Now, repeat the exercise on the other side.
