Qi Gong Can Make You a More Kindhearted Person
Qi Gong is a powerful practice for helping you (or anyone) cultivate kindness in everyday living.
In traditional Chinese medicine, and Qi Gong, kindness is connected to the Wood Element and a sense of abundance. Springtime is also connected with the Wood Element. When the Wood Element in you is strong and healthy, abundance overflows into kindness. This makes it easier to treat others with consideration and generosity. If the Wood Element is depleted, you may feel a sense of scarcity which makes it easier to become disconnected from the qualities of kindness and courtesy.
The feelings of abundance and kindness are closely connected. Feeling abundance doesn’t mean you necessarily have a lot of material possessions or wealth. It’s possible to be very wealthy, but not feel satisfied, which can be reflected in a sense of scarcity. And yet, one may have fewer material belongings but feel blessed with abundance and that he is enough just as he is. Such people will treat others with kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Stress can contribute to feelings of scarcity. One may be stressed because she doesn’t have time to compete a task. At other times, stress may be caused by fear of losing something or not getting what’s desired. Lowering stress levels can reduce or eliminate feelings of scarcity and in turn make one a more kindhearted person.
Qi Gong is a wonderful practice for overcoming stress and cultivating a feeling of genuine abundance. Here are some dynamic exercises to boost the Wood Element and help you to experience the transformation for yourself:
